Liscio (li'-si-o)

Liscio means "smooth". When introduced in 2010, the Liscio set the standard for disc-equipped carbon road bikes. In 2011 Velo Magazine called it "The Bike of the Future" and by 2013 "the most comfortable road frame we've ever ridden." Though we're happy to turn heads, and greatly appreciate the support of our wonderful customers, we remain always wary to try to win over our toughest customer, our own selves.

Where Disc-brakes Belong

We've led the charge on this front, since the Liscio made its debut in 2010, yet the true merits of disc brakes are often missed: Discs decrease hand fatigue while increasing safety and control tremendously, especially at higher speeds, when they're needed most. Lightweight carbon fiber rims tracks simply cannot dump heat quickly enough, leading to crashes or tire blow-outs, which we never enjoy hearing about. And not all disc brakes are equal. We can give you our best recommendations based on your weight, riding style, and expectations.

Volagi Road Geometry and Construction

Keeping a race-like agility and out-of-the-saddle punch, the Liscio noticeably increases comfort by reducing road vibration and improving ergonomic fit. Our patented LongBow Flex Stay™ Design and 30/24T carbon blend keeps the wheelbase tight while the seat stays lengthen past the seat tube dissipating vibration and allowing vertical compliance at the saddle.

Shifting: A Tactile Delight

Electronic shifting further decreases hand fatigue and is virtually maintenance free, potentially paying itself off in the cash you save in tuneups. Wiring is provided for Shimano and Campagnolo systems. For those desiring the cleanest look, an internal Di2 battery can be installed upon request. And when using traditional mechanical shifting, our internal cable routing keeps dirt, rain, and sugary drinks off your cables. Shifting should always be this easy and accurate.

135mm Rear Hub Spacing

This gives you access to a wide range of hub and custom wheelset options.

Extended Head Tube

A more balanced position improves performance over distance and longer periods of time. We designed the Liscio with a slightly taller head tube to make the ride more comfortable.

Rider, Not Racer

Most importantly, we created the Liscio for the endurance rider, not the racer. Every aspect of the design has been thought out and scrutinized for the most comfortable ride possible, while maintaining a high-level of performance and experience. After all, we want you to have the best experience you've ever had on a bike, every time.

Liscio / Ultegra 11 Speed

“Volagi’s designers may have gone down the comfort route with their Liscio frameset but over the last couple of months this modern looking carbon frame has been impressing everywhere from time trials to fast commutes and interval sessions. If you’re the type of rider that likes to dabble in all aspects of road riding this […]

Ride Magazine

I imagine that this bike will end up in the garage of people with a much more genuine grasp on independence than what I was trying to achieve with a sound system at age 14. Someone who is searching for a bike that is an extension of his or her passion for riding. Like they […]

Red Kite Prayer

One of my favorite features about the Volagi Liscio was its handling. On descents and in corners the bike was predictable and left me relaxed and confident. In the especially tight twists of the canyon roads of Malibu I needed to give the bike a bit more English than some others, but I didn’t mind […]

Liscio Custom Bike

There is an appreciable amount of give at the rear end of the Liscio, which absorbs a large amount of road buzz, although perhaps not quite as much as I had anticipated, especially when factoring the gangly seatpost into the equation. However, it was still a lot more comfortable than many other endurance bikes. This […]
